An unscripted web show, starring Charles and Jennifer Maring, that takes you behind the scenes of their creative journey as a married couple who make their living as artists.
Thank you so much for your support!
We are relaxing at home on New Years Day, with motivation and excitement for the year ahead. New Years and the Holidays is always a time that we reflect on just how lucky we are, and we want to take a moment to say Thank You to our clients, our friends both old and new, and our family for supporting our dreams.
Through hard work we have humbly become known to be among some of the best photographers in the world. At that point we could have easily held the status quo and simply stopped trying to evolve out of fear of the unknown because there is risk in trying to re-invent yourself as an artist. We make our living through pure creativity and are thankful for it. But the truth of the matter is that it's your support and love that drives us to keep pushing ourselves artistically.
Ohhh What a Year
This past year we launched Together In Style, and started producing content from our hearts and sharing it. We started with a talk show about weddings. We then harnessed Jennifer's incredible hidden talents in the kitchen when we started sharing her recipes. We started writing articles on technology and creative entrepreneurship to help other aspiring artists see that it's possible to make a living through creativity. We then created the web series Our Reel Life with behind the scenes clips shared along with unscripted conversations. We also started creating fashions from my fine art paintings, and we are excited to see this come to life in 2016.
Doing all of this took a lot of energy. We stayed up late nights, and often got up before the sun to do it all, but we are so glad we have taken the risk because it has made us better artists. Because of all of this we are creating the best work of our lives with confidence, and that is fantastic for our clients, and empowering for us as creators.
CHAPTER 17 Our Reel Life
The Kitchen Ceiling
We are now thinking of Our Reel Life as chapters, and Chapter 17 takes place from Christmas Eve to New Years Eve. This is a time we shut down the studio and focus on family and our personal lives. We finally finished the Kitchen, which was over a year in the making since we had a leak that brought down our original popcorn ceiling. We took the liberty of dreaming up a look all our own, and use this small bump in the road as an opportunity to upgrade the kitchen with our own sense of personal style.
I love the country feel of our Connecticut home, so I wanted to keep it country to a degree. However, I wanted to glam it up a bit and give it some class and style. I decided to remodel the ceiling with wood, and used tongue and groove Shiplap and Ralph Lauren Metallic Paint. With new knobs on the cabinets, floor to ceiling curtains, and two new chandeliers we got the look we wanted.
Cooking Show - Together In Style At Home...
The holidays took over our lives as we had promises to keep and deadlines to meet for our clients. So, Jennifer simply couldn't share on the cooking front as we had hoped. However with the New Year ahead she has a lot of great recipes that we will be filming and sharing.
A lot of people don't realize, but we have a lot of experience creating beautiful food and lifestyle stories. We co-created several books on home entertaining with good friend, and celebrity party planner, David Tutera over the years. He has been an incredible friend and mentor. Working with David has help inspire us to use our talents to create and share our passions outside of how we make our living with as photographers.
We host Christmas Eve almost every year at our home in Connecticut, and adore that so many friends and family join us to celebrate. As usual Santa Claus, in his usual spirited form, showed up this year bringing gifts to all of the kids.
Best Wishes in 2016...
Well we hope you enjoy the show and creative content we produce and share. Who knows what 2016 has in store for us, but one thing is for sure... We will continue to push ourselves to grow artistically thanks to your love and support of these two crazy married artists. Wishing you a blessed 2016!
