Fashions for the Country

Just because your in the country doesn't mean you have to fully dress down to stay comfortable.

A great go to for women for staying cool, and looking great on a hot summer day, is a simple dress.

If you are short like me, it's great to choose a dress that is a bit on the shorter side, just a few inches above the knee, because it emphasizes your legs. It's a great way to keep it flirty but still keeps it classy allowing it to work for women of all ages. The dress I am wearing here I found on sale at Hollister. I love it because it's low maintenance, packs well, and I never have to iron it.

The Boots...

The boots are an entire blog post, but to keep it short... I found them in a little shop in Sienna, Italy while traveling with my husband. They are hand crafted, and cost about $300, but they wear well, for for all seasons, and I expect them to last for years to come. So, a high quality pair of boots are a staple for any wardrobe.

The Accessories

The eye glasses are Oakley Conduct, They run about $160, and have somewhat of a modern aviator look and feel to them. Their great for sporty, and active, lifestyles.

Pearls are a great way to class up a casual outfit. They are a staple for a lot of denim wearers out there.

Speaking of denim... I am always cold, so a denim jacket is a great go to. You can do it incredibly inexpensively, or spend top dollar. Either way, denim jackets work! I got this one at Old Navy.

The Car

This is my fun summer toy, that is actually as functional as it is fashionable. It's a Chrysler 200 Convertible. To bad they don't make those anymore, but we picked it up used with only 16,000 miles on it. What I love about it is that with the top up, the trunk is huge making room for all of my photography gear. When the top is down I get get to take in some sunshine, which we all know helps us smile.

I'm a woman who loves fashion, and having fun with it. This is an outfit that's perfect for a hot summer day out playing on the New England countryside. Be bold, and be yourself. Life is a stage, so have some character!
