Late Summer Fashions

End of summer = great fashion sales...

The late summer is when you can find some great buys on clothing. Since it's still hot out it can be tempting to spend on fun summer outfits however, this is the time of year I look for staples that can work in the coming seasons.

Use late summer sales to find staples...

The top here is actually a very old top, nearly 8 years old in fact. However, it's a staple. The smart thing about finding classics in black is that you can mix and match, and it never gets dated. It was a little pricey at $100 or so, but I don't mind spending a little more on a staple that I actually love because I know it will be used again and again. I purchased it at Tristan New York.

The skirt I picked up on sale at Express. It has sequins, so it's fun and flirty. I happen to believe you can get away with sequins during the day if you pair it correctly. My tip for making it work is to keep jewelry at a minimum. Doing so also allows you to mix patterns, yet keep the look simple at the same time.

I spend a lot of time in NYC for work. Most of the time I am either behind the camera on a photo-shoot, or have meetings across town. Here we are in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan. Love the cobble stone streets! Which means, I have to have comfortable shoes, and have to be able to walk on uneven ground. Here I chose Aerosoles because of just that. They are reasonably priced, comfortable, and I'll most definitely get a lot of wear out of them.

I'm a woman who loves fashion, and having fun with it. This is a simple outfit that works for a busy, business minded person like me. Be bold, and be yourself. Life is a stage, so have some character!
