ARTIST LIFESTYLE

CREATING A LIFESTYLE OUT OF YOUR PASSIONS

There is more to art and creativity than making money, and yet no amount of money is really enough to do the work it takes to be a full time artist. To be an artist you have to do it for the love of it, and have enough ideas to keep it interesting, or you will burn out quickly. Most do, but if this is your dream, don’t let naysayers tell you it can’t be done. Fact is there aren’t a lot of hours in the day, so balancing the act of creating, marketing, servicing, traveling, accounting, customer relationships, visualization of how to take your work to new heights, development of new products, and quality control can be a bit overwhelming. Oh yeah, and paying the electric bill, mortgage, car payment, insurance, and for materials, technology, cameras all somehow all on the creative ideas flowing from within you… Yes, there are endless reasons that great art doesn’t come cheap! Cheap and good do not go hand in hand. Stressed out yet?

The artist lifestyle is amazing, but it’s not stress free by any means no matter how good you are. If you follow our journey you’ll see that we create on many fronts crossing over from photography to painting, to music, fashion, and more. We’ve embraced all of our talents, and allow the universe to guide us. When we feel the universe pulling us in a creative direction we follow it rather than fighting it. This has allowed us to create an enormous body of work, multiple streams of income, and most certainly makes things interesting, which is what matters most. When life is interesting, and intriguing, it brings happiness to an artist. Everyday routines, not so much. To succeed is to keep moving, keep creating, and allow everything else, including income to fall into place. Artists must dream big, and trust in the universe, which is probably pretty scary to most. But for artists, it’s the way…

Art isn’t business to us, rather it’s personal. We create lifelong relationships with clients who value our talents and time, and who appreciate and understand all the effort that we put into the everything we do. Truth is, we aren’t for everyone because we aim to create our best work, and this level of creativity costs a little more. Our clients know it’s worth every penny, and when we are passed over due to cost we are perfectly fine with it because we know what it takes, and we put every dollar back into our work, and the experience we provide.

We've been living the dream and making a living as artists for over 20 years, and we are honored to work for others when they want it done right. Part of who we are is also cheering on other artists trying to find their way. So, we also aim to share some tips to help others realize just how possible it is in this day and age, which is what this post and video is about. To our clients, we thank you for allowing us to do our best work and for your support. To the other artists out there, open your mind to the idea of art being a lifestyle rather than a business. Great relationships are the solid foundation from which you will grow, so focus on that as well. The art you create can be a beautiful way to leave a legacy, as it will live on far after you have gone.
