“High above the trains on a terrace I sit overlooking the ever changing colors in the construction pit. Jackhammers by day, the sound of train conductors by night talking over a loudspeaker as the engines pulled and stopped with all their might. There was something special to watch through my lens each day as the city rose towards heaven in a very creative way. Can’t sleep for the sounds and sun when it rises, so I start a time lapse to capture the horizon. The view from my terrace slowly disappears, each new floor of the building prolonging my fears. As an artist I don’t want to leave the city of lights, even the one that leaves me sleepless at night. But, it is time to flee from this neighborhood as the rents going up, which is never really good. Glad I have the memories, and the photographs, and films I created, so I can share with you a bit of history belated.”
