HURRICANES

A SONG FOR THOSE STRUGGLING THROUGH THE STORM
by Charles Marng

We all have to weather storms at some point in life, and a Hurricane can be a metaphor for the changing winds and tides of life, or a vicious reality. It’s been another week of devastation continues after Hurricane Florence hit the Carolinas. My family, including my mom, brother, sister, and all their kids were in the thick of it, and they are still in recovery mode. Even long after the winds have past, the water is still high, and like so many others, their lives can’t get back to normal. These massive storms just keep rocking our world here in the United States, and it’s so sad to see families having to go through so much.

Last year after Houston was hit by Harvey, and then Puerto Rico and surrounding islands getting hit twice in a row, and especially by Hurricane Maria our hearts went out to all in those areas. It was around that time that I picked up my guitar one night and sat down and wrote this song. Moving forward when you are crippled by challenges around you has got to be one of the hardest things for somebody to do. But, we gotta move on… Look forward to better days, thank god for those who are there to help, and live!

To those who were effected by Florence, we love you, and we are praying for you!
