DJI - Phantom X

We have been using DJI products for quite some time now, and a lot of content here on Together In Style is produced with their tools. The DJI Ronin-M 3 Axis gimbal has become a staple of our motion picture productions for clients. The DJI Phantom 3 Professional we use for non-commercial personal projects, much of which you can see here on in our stories as well. Lastly we pre-ordered the DJI OSMO and X5 M43 camera, as it could be the ultimate compliment to our Panasonic GH4 mirrorless camera systems and lenses.

This week DJI announced that they have invested in Hasselblad, which came as a surprise to many in our industry. However, I must say that a 60mm motion picture camera would be a very welcome announcement down the road for a lot of filmmakers I am sure. There is an endless array of dreamy ideas I can conjure up on why they would invest in Hasselblad, but time will tell if my vision and theirs line up.

After all of these exciting new tools and announcements, today I see that DJI just launched a new video showcasing some interesting and exciting new ideas when it comes the future of capturing both our professional and private lives. Their vision of the future is really quite interesting on many levels.

In many ways the Selfie is the ultimate way to master the art of storytelling with a camera. Creating something new everyday is what allows you to grow, learn, and apply it to client projects when the time comes.

In the video they talk at length about selfies, and how drones can impact the selfie. We tend to agree because for all practical purposes Together In Style is one big selfie shared through videos and photographs when we think about it. We share our personal thoughts through writing along with stories about our favorite foods, recipes, trips, hotels, fashion, technologies, and more.

However, for creators the selfie goes deeper than the obvious. Together In Style allows us to have a playground to master the tools and technology as artists so that we can apply it to our client projects with confidence. While the traditional selfie is one of the things we all love to hate, we believe that it is also the perfect opportunity to grow and master our craft complimented the ability to share. It's all in how you look at it!

Check out the video above to see some of DJI's ideas for the future! The next few years are going to wildly interesting for those of us who make our living telling stories, and for those who just prefer to sit back and enjoy!
