THINGS TO DO IN NYC...

Join us on a date night out on the town...

OUR REEL LIFE Web Series - Episode 3 "TIGHT PANTS"
An unscripted web show, starring Charles and Jennifer Maring, that takes you behind the scenes of their creative journey as a married couple who make their living as artists.

New York is an endless sea of things to do, which can make it overwhelming to some degree. Today we live in Connecticut, but having had an apartment in the city for 15 years, we generally prefer to keep it low key and stay away from the touristy areas. We prefer the neighborhoods. So, where do you go, and what is there to do in a quant little neighborhood in the city? Actually the options are endless...

In this episode of OUR REEL LIFE we commuted into NYC for a date night on the town. We had a good reason to escape to the city as one of our clients, Cost Plus World Market, just had a grand opening of their first store in the Northeast right in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. They have a lot of great items for the home along with great entertaining ideas as well. Definitely worth checking out if you are in NYC.

We stayed at The FlatIron Hotel on West 26th street. We've had overnights here several times because it's conveniently located and easy to get to from the West Side Highway. There is parking nearby, which they validate for a discounted rate, and there are several fantastic BBQ restaurants, and/or whiskey bars on this block as well. The rooms are always clean and cozy, and the hotel has a modern yet comfortable vibe. The FlatIron Hotel also has a hopping lounge in the lobby with chic furnishings and live music almost every night of the week. So, you don't have to look far for great entertainment or food.

We ate at The Hog Pit NYC. The atmosphere is dark and cozy, some good beers are on tap, and the pulled pork was fantastic. If you like BBQ you can't go wrong on West 26th street.

Tight Pants tribute...

Lastly the night air was warm and windy, so we dressed the part. We got out in the streets with dueling Lumix cameras and had a fun night capturing the city and each other. See the fashion film we created this night using our Lumix cameras.  It's a completely different way to shoot as we are using stop motion and are completely on the go. Cameras are a statement of style, and if you want a fun loving way to explore the city grab your cameras, and hit the town Together In Style.
