Travel from Austin to Laguna Beach where we share tests of High Resolution Mode 2, do a portrait session on the beach, and take you BTS of the Panasonic Lumix Dealer Event for the Launch of the Lumix S1 and S1R Full Frame Mirrorless Cameras. As leading industry experts we are sponsored photographers and are both Panasonic Lumix Ambassadors, and Profoto Legends of Light. Basically that means that we artists who are paid to test, give feedback for improvements, and to educate aspiring photographers.
That doesn’t mean we can be bought, rather the opposite. We already own more gear than we can ever possibly use, and with our credentials we have choices to work with any brand out there. In fact we have… Lots of companies have sponsored our speaking engagements including Canon, Nikon, and Apple, to name a few. Currently we choose to work with Lumix because we feel they are breaking new ground, and leading the industry forward. In fact, they are changing the industry and forcing legacy brands either to innovate or die… Profoto is an innovator as well, and there is a reason they are the most successful photographic lighting company in the world. These cameras and strobes are expensive. We understand that they are out of the reach of most, but they are worth every penny in our professional opinion as they have proven to be reliable time and time again.
Being a sponsored photographer has it’s perks, and one of those perks is the ability to travel the world with the latest technologies on the planet. However, we would argue that the biggest perk of all is the ability to educate others on how to succeed in this challenging industry. Without these brand associations and relationships we simply wouldn’t be able to afford to take time our of our busy schedule to fly all over the world and mentor aspiring artists. We are thankful to all the mentors and ambassadors who came before us and helped us to realize our dreams, and now it’s our turn to help others do the same. It’s an honor to find ourselves in this position, and to be able to give back to an industry that has given us so much.
