NEW YORK STORY

Written from the heart, New York Story is song that looks back early in our careers when we took the leap of faith and moved to Manhattan. “I barely had a plan”, but we worked hard to live the dream, and the truth of the matter is we had a lot of dreams come true in the city that never sleeps, and still do today. I was out on a limb but determined to make it. A great mentor once said to me… “don’t ask for permission, ask for forgiveness.” So, with little more than a credit card and a dream we went for it, and looking back, those struggles were some of the best days of our lives. This song is for the artists out there, or anyone with a dream who goes all in and takes that leap of faith. Work hard, and the net will appear when it’s supposed to.
During this time in city I made it a point to photograph and film our little neighborhood of West Chelsea creating cinematic video clips and time lapses. This is now considered historical footage of an era gone by because to look at this bustling neighborhood now, you would never recognize it. The HighLine has been completed, and Hudson Yards is in full swing. But, this is how we like to remember West Chelsea … Quaint, quiet, beautiful, and filled with art and artists! I wanted to create a Fine Art music video, so I animated all the footage frame by frame. It was an insanely time consuming process as it took my mac pro a full day to render 20 seconds of animation, and a solid week of work. In the end, it was worth it… I hope you enjoy my first single.
