TECH TALK

Technology is transforming industries and causing disruption. In fact, I don't think any industry is safe at the moment. However, as disruptive as it can be sometimes, I love it when technology makes our mission as artists, photographers, and filmmakers more enjoyable. 5 Axis image stabilization is one of the newer concepts that is starting to make it's way into camera systems, and the real world implications of this technology is truly remarkable. It makes filmmaking more enjoyable, easier, and more creative in a variety of different ways.

If you check out this blog regularly, you know that I have posted about the Lumix GX85 several times. While it lacks some professional level features, and is obviously not the end all be all camera by any means, it does pack a punch when it comes to visual integrity of photographs and video. This is also the first camera of it's kind to feature Dual image stabilization for video. Dual stabilization goes a few steps beyond 5 Axis alone. As amazing as 5 Axis Stabilization is in a camera body, combining that with optical stabilization built into lenses, and you have a system that is truly revolutionary in it's capabilities.

Check out the video above to see how it's making a difference on all of our projects both in our personal and professional lives. Simply put, this technology allows us to be incredibly more stealth when working on client films at events or weddings, with a video quality that is remarkably beautiful to boot.
